临床肿瘤中心放疗二病区的前身为放疗科，始建于1957年，是广西最早开展放射治疗的单位之一。经过60余年的发展，放疗科已经成为广西区内就医条件最为优越、放疗设备完善、人员配备合理、放疗技术先进的单位之一。科室放疗设备包括能够利用在线成像执行诸如调强放疗、图像引导放疗、自适应放疗、容积旋转调强放疗、立体定向放疗等国际先进放疗技术的医科达直线加速器、三维后装治疗机，以及能够进行四维成像、呼吸关联成像的飞利浦大孔径CT模拟定位机，并同时配备有国际先进的治疗计划系统和剂量监测、验证设备。近年来，科室率先在广西开展鼻咽癌的图像引导放疗和自适应放疗、肺癌的运动包含技术、乳腺癌3D打印外照射、胶质母细胞瘤电场治疗等先进放疗技术，承担国家级自然科学基金项目5项，广西科技厅重点研发项目1项，在国内外专业期刊发表论文约134篇，其中SCI论文50余篇。获广西创新争先个人奖一项，广西科学技术进步二等奖、三等奖各一项，广西医药卫生适宜技术推广奖一等奖2项、二等奖5项；广西自然科学优秀论文一等奖、二等奖各一项；获院内新技术、新项目二等奖2项。

按照院党委“两院三区”高质量发展战略，为了体现各亚专业特色，促进肿瘤放疗学科向精细化、专业化方向发展，2022年2月放疗科细分为三个病区，其中，放疗二病区对鼻咽癌等头颈部肿瘤、颅内肿瘤、乳腺癌、淋巴瘤、皮肤肿瘤的治疗目前处于区内领先地位。目前拥有享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家1名，博士1名，硕士研究生10名，高级职称医护人员6名，同时也是放射肿瘤学住院医师规范化培训基地和暨南大学、广西医科大学、广西中医药大学、右江民族医学院、桂林医学院硕士学位培养点。科室建有于金明院士工作站，是广西医师协会肿瘤多学科综合诊疗（MDT）专委会和广西医学会精准医学分会主委单位。

The predecessor of the Radiation Oncology Ward 2 in the Clinical Oncology Center was the Radiation Oncology Department, which was established in 1957 and is one of the earliest units in Guangxi to carry out radiation therapy. After more than 60 years of development, the Radiation Oncology Department has become one of the units in Guangxi with the best medical conditions, well-equipped radiotherapy facilities, reasonable staffing, and advanced radiotherapy techniques. The department's radiotherapy equipment includes Medical Science Linear Accelerators capable of using online imaging to perform advanced international radiotherapy techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy, image-guided radiotherapy, adaptive radiotherapy, volumetric modulated arc therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery. It also includes a Philips large aperture CT simulator capable of performing four-dimensional imaging and respiratory-gated imaging. The department is equipped with an international advanced treatment planning system and dose monitoring and verification equipment. In recent years, the department has taken the lead in Guangxi in carrying out advanced radiotherapy techniques such as image-guided radiotherapy and adaptive radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer, motion-compensated techniques for lung cancer, 3D-printed external beam radiotherapy for breast cancer, and electric field therapy for glioblastoma. It has undertaken 5 National Natural Science Fund Projects and 1 key R&D project of the Guangxi Science and Technology Department. Approximately 134 papers have been published in domestic and international professional journals, including more than 50 SCI papers. It has received one Guangxi Innovation and Excellence Personal Award, one Guangxi Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, one Guangxi Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, two First Prizes and five Second Prizes for the Guangxi Health Technology Promotion Award, one First Prize and one Second Prize for the Guangxi Natural Science Excellent Paper Award, and two Second Prizes for New Technologies and Projects within the hospital.

In accordance with the high-quality development strategy of the hospital party committee's "Two Hospitals and Three Areas," in order to reflect the characteristics of each subspecialty and promote the development of the radiotherapy discipline toward refinement and specialization, the Radiation Oncology Department was divided into three wards in February 2022. Among them, Radiation Oncology Ward 2 is currently in a leading position in the treatment of head and neck tumors, intracranial tumors, breast cancer, lymphoma, and skin tumors in the region. Currently, it has one expert awarding Special Government Allowances from the State Council, one doctorate, ten master's degree graduate students, six senior medical and nursing staff with advanced professional titles. It is also a standardized training base for resident physicians in radiation oncology and a master's degree training site for Jinming Academician Workstation, as well as Jinan University, Guangxi Medical University, Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine University, Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities, and Guilin Medical University. The department is the host unit of the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) Committee of the Guangxi Physician Association and the chairman unit of the Precision Medicine Branch of the Guangxi Medical Association.
